LiquiCaps — daytime cold & flu relief, non-drowsy
Order DayQuil LiquiCaps 24ct — Keep Going During Cold & Flu Season Without Drowsiness
LiquiCaps (liquid-filled capsules), 24-count pack
DayQuil LiquiCaps is a non-drowsy, multi-symptom OTC cold and flu medication designed for daytime use. It contains acetaminophen (pain/fever relief), dextromethorphan (cough suppressant), and phenylephrine HCl (nasal decongestant) — but no antihistamine, making it non-sedating. The LiquiCaps format (liquid inside a soft gelatin capsule) provides fast absorption.
DayQuil Liquicaps is indicated for the relief of daytime relief of cold and flu symptoms including nasal congestion, cough, fever, sore throat, headache, and minor aches and pains. It is approved for OTC use and does not require a prescription for standard adult doses.
DayQuil's non-drowsy triple-action formula: Acetaminophen relieves fever, sore throat, and body aches. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough signals in the brain without sedation. Phenylephrine constricts nasal blood vessels to relieve sinus pressure and stuffy nose. Together, these three ingredients address the most debilitating daytime cold symptoms without causing drowsiness, allowing you to work, drive, and function normally.
Adults and children 12 and over: Take 2 LiquiCaps every 4 hours as needed. Do not exceed 4 doses (8 LiquiCaps) in 24 hours. Swallow capsules whole with water. Do not take with other medications containing acetaminophen, decongestants, or cough suppressants. The 24-count pack provides 12 doses (48–72 hours of treatment).
DayQuil is for adults and children 12 and older. Not suitable for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, or prostate problems without doctor approval — the decongestant component (phenylephrine) may aggravate these conditions. Do not use if pregnant without consulting your doctor. Avoid in children under 12.
Common side effects include nervousness, dizziness, and sleeplessness (due to the decongestant phenylephrine). Some people experience increased blood pressure or heart rate. Stomach upset may occur. Do not use if you are sensitive to stimulants. Contains acetaminophen — do not combine with other products containing this ingredient.

DayQuil LiquiCaps contain: Acetaminophen 325mg (pain/fever), Dextromethorphan HBr 10mg (cough suppressant), and Phenylephrine HCl 5mg (nasal decongestant). Unlike NyQuil, DayQuil does NOT contain a sedating antihistamine. Source: FDA OTC Safety.
Yes, but follow the schedule carefully. Take DayQuil during the day (every 4 hours, max 4 doses) and NyQuil at bedtime only. Do NOT overlap doses — both contain acetaminophen and exceeding the maximum daily acetaminophen dose (4,000mg) risks liver damage.
No — DayQuil is formulated for non-drowsy daytime relief. It does not contain sedating antihistamines. You can generally take it and continue normal daily activities. The decongestant phenylephrine may actually cause mild stimulation in some people.
Do NOT combine DayQuil with other acetaminophen-containing products. Be cautious combining with MAO inhibitors. Check with your pharmacist if taking prescription medications. See FDA drug interaction guidance.
Adults: Take 2 LiquiCaps every 4 hours. Do not take more than 4 doses (8 capsules) in 24 hours. Do not use for more than 7 days for cold symptoms or 3 days for fever without consulting a doctor.
